- New Faculty Orientation -

"As new faculty reflect on their experience, they agree on one thing: no matter how much they value their autonomy as professors, they still rely most on colleagues for success as teachers, as productive researchers, and as contented professionals."

Boice, R. (1992). The new faculty member: Supporting and fostering professional development. San Francsico: Jossey-Bass. p.19

Whether you are beginning your academic career or bringing your work and expertise to IUPUI, we invite you to attend our fall welcoming events.  We want to meet you and make you feel at home.  These programs are great opportunities to meet campus officials and get to know other new faculty appointees.  The welcome and orientation process will continue throughout the year with a series of presentations, workshops, and celebrations focused on making the transition to IUPUI easy and productive. These events provide additional opportunities to interact with colleagues and administrative staff, investigate various campus resources, interact with administrative staff, and ask questions of current faculty.

Fall Events

Chancellor Charles Bantz invites all new appointees to join him and Dr. Sandra Petronio for a lavish reception at Cedar Crest, the Chancellor's official residence, on Thursday, August 28th.  The Chancellor and his wife look forward to getting to know new members of the IUPUI community.  Formal invitations will be mailed to new appointees around the end of July.

On September 12th, Executive Vice-Chancellor Uday Sukhatme hosts a morning gathering to introduce our new colleagues to the shape of faculty work at IUPUI and especially to those resources in place to ensure faculty success. - Register Online
