The office of Faculty Appointments and Advancement (FAA) serves the faculty, academic administration and campus community of IUPUI in matters pertaining to faculty life from recruitment to retirement.
Once a final candidate is selected, the offer and hiring processes for all academic appointees on the IUPUI campus are managed by FAA.

As the operational arm of the Dean of the Faculties Office, FAA coordinates the campus promotion and tenure process. This includes establishing the campus committee, managing the campus level review of dossiers, tracking decisions and assisting with notifying faculty of process outcomes. FAA holds workshops in the fall for faculty completing the three-year review process and in the spring for all faculty seeking promotion and/or tenure.

Based upon type of academic appointment, IUPUI offers vacation, sick leave, paid family leave and sabbatical leaves to eligible faculty members. FAA manages these processes.

FAA oversees the campus faculty awards process, promotes IU system awards, and assists with nominations for national and international awards. Additionally, FAA plans and executes the annual Chancellor’s Honors Convocation where award-winning faculty are recognized.
